DRAG RACE RELAP

We are still wiping tears from our eyes after last week’s elimination, in which our one true queen of one-liners, half-cartwheeled, and then sashayed, away, but we bravely soldier on with the show. We’ve got a Cher-themed episode on our hands and, according to her legendary ass, the beat goes onThe maxi challenge is a massive tribute, and not one of the best challenges in my opinion..... to RuPaul’s idol. The girls will be starring in Cher: The Unauthorized Rusical, each portraying the Dark Lady from a different era of her six-decade-long career. But this ain’t no lip-sync challenge! The girls are singing live. YIKES! It seems during the rehearsal, just about everybody had trouble with this challenge in some form. But during the main stage we finally see the queens who turned it. My observations.....

Kameron Michaels
Girls.....I's a bit nervous in the rehearsal.... but when the main stage came, I was so happy to see Kameron turned it out on the challenge and stunned, yet again, on the main stage....for a win finally!!!!! You go gurl!!!

Eureka O Hara
Can I just say how pleased with Eureka I've been this season?  For the fourth week in a row, Ms. O' Hara turned up the heat yet again, in another fabulous main stage look. If she keeps up this momentum, could we be seeing our first big girl win??? And that hair!!! Love you gurl, love your hair.

Asia O Hara

While her Cher left us cold and puzzled, which stands out as the worst of the bunch. She forgets the words, laughs at her own feeble attempt at a Cher impression, and laboriously stomps through the dance steps she is assigned as Movie Star Cher. At least she seems like she is having fun while she is failing. Asia’s main stage clown look hugs her curves in all the right ways...and it was nice to see her radiant smile and face this week.

The Vixen
The bottom two are Asia O’Hara and the Vixen, and the lip sync to “Groove Is in the Heart” is one of the most solid, particularly from Asia. In the end, this lip sync is the third strike for the Vixen, and she is sent home. Finally. I just hope she has learned her lesson being on the show. It's fine to be true to yourself, and express yourself, but you do not always have to attract flies with vinegar...try some honey once in a while. Bye Felicia!

And did I mention I would probably sleep with Billy Eichner?
I have his Grindr hook up right here.

  1. She may be fine off screen....but good riddance to the Vixen. Who needs all the glum vibes and negative energy.

I,AGREE.....Kameron and Eureka were both stunning, and Eureka was really the only one to have a comedy side to her Cher.

  2. WHY do I keep forgetting to watch? The Cher tribute would've been a complete hoot! Well, when will they pay tribute to that other 6-decade gay icon, Babs? I mean, come on....
    Hugs!

  4. Was back home last week & watched the Snatch Game episode with my 82 year old mother. She read Vixen for filth. Got home late last night, forgetting Ru was on (I know, I know, what wrong with me? Don't ask.) I will enjoy the episode more knowing vixen's gone AND I love Groove is in the Heart!

  7. Kameron was the best Cher performer and singer! I also loved Monet X Change! She just radiated Cher's spirit and fierceness! Miz Cracker had the best look! What a stunner! It was my fave outfit of the night. Seriously, why hasn't she won a challenge yet? She was the best in the space/future challenge!

Aquaria looked fantastic in the runway, too. Now I know where Madonna and Rihanna stole their Met Gala looks, from RuPaul's Drag Race!!! (See Dolores Delargo Towers' latest post in the side bar)...

Glad that the Vixen is gone, because in the end, the best performer won the lip sync. Asia wasn't clowning around! But I am grateful for Asia for stepping out to share some insight with Vixen, allowing us to understand both people better.

We are reminded that these characters are real people, who experience real problems, including class and racial inequalities, loss, and struggling to find yourself and a place to belong, a home.

  11. Miz Cracker should have been top 3, for some reason I feel Ru and the judges don't like her at all.

  12. ’m actually kind of laughing to myself. Probably a month or two before this season began, I was talking with a friend and I said how shocked I was that “Groove is in the Heart” had never been used as a lip sync song.

  14. Yes, the Vixen had already set up her own shashsay away weeks ago with her behavior. Agreed with your entire POV on last night's episode.

When I go to a drag show, Eureka is what I look for. She just glows on the main stage.

  15. I finally saw the episode. It puzzles me the Vixen attacked Eureka and some others on a weak Cher. Ru didn't say you had to sing like Patty Lupone. They did what they were asked to do, and came through. As bad as Kameron was during rehearsal, he really did capture Cher's essence, as did Eureka with her looks and a few sound bites. Vixen and Asia were the right two be put up.
