EPICUREAN DELIGHTS?

If your familiar with the Mistress and this here blog, you'll know and remember my blogger pal and friend Kailyn. We met through our blogs, stayed in touch, and have visited several times on both coasts.  She is after all my Edina to my Patsy. I can't even tell  you how much gin, rum, gin, wine, gin, liqueurs and gin we have sunk. I mean, when we did the Napa Valley, we drank, well, she drank the lovely county vineyards dry!!! Not to mention when she came to New Hope. The poor Raven is still trying to restock the distillery, and the bartends are still nursing their arms and hands from carpal tunnel from shaking cock-a-tails so fast. Anyway.... I was delighted when I heard she was coming east again...we would get caught up and visit my good friend and sister Mame, aka David Dust. But in my angst, I forgot it was Easter weekend and I'd be away out of town at the ancestral home. YOU'D think my Social Director would have caught that right? Well, Kailyn has been sending pictures of her current Life of Riley. She has been enjoying the treasures of the NYC, and being a foodie and a good cook herself, she was enjoying many earthly delights....
This was her room service one day. You know just another afternoon with champagne, caviar and foie gras.

But this was her piece de la resistance....
The one thing she kept telling me was,  she was going to Le Bernardin, New York's most celebrated seafood restaurant. If you've come to find out whether Le Bernardin is worth the trip and money, I assume by her enthusiastic picture taking the answer is absolutely YES! But I contained my excitement as I asked where the hell she was dining! Mars? This food may have been good, as I hear from sources she was seen licking the plates clean, but I wasn't feeling it, or didn't ever know what the sam hell she was dining on? But I reckon if she enjoyed it, it was all worth.

I mean look at that. And what's that gold thing? Did someone lose a gold filling?
Is it me or does that twig like object look like something from that movie The Thing? But worry not. In between eating she was drinking. The only problem was she couldn't get the stuff down her gullet quick enough....

In the lounge of the Kimberly Hotel where she had a suite, she was very surprised to see they had a drink called the Mistress.

There are drinks named for me all over, not to mention other parts of the hotels, where unmentionable things have gone on........ask anyone for a Bad Influence in New Hope, they will know who it's named after.

GRANDE DAME- JODIE HARSH

When it comes to fabulous drag queens, few in the world hold a candle to the gorgeous Jodie Harsh. This English queen rules the nightlife scene in London, and not just because of her stunning looks - she produces music for pop stars, is a majorly accomplished DJ, and has snatched the top spot on dance charts in countries all over the world. In addition, Jodie is the founder of Room Service, a weekday club night that has expanded from London to Ibiza, Tel Aviv, Sydney, Paris, and New York City. This past year she hosted the web series Drag Queen Problems for World of Wonder, answering tough queries from drag queens the world over.  No lip-syncing, no singing, no dancing, no jokes. But if that makes British performer Jodie Harsh sound like she wouldn’t last the first round in, say, a televised search for the next drag superstar, think again.  Harsh is the hottest drag DJ going. Right now Jodie is at a pivotal point in her career, her trajectory headed onward and upward. She is already a judge on the U.K. version of Drag Race, and there’s a publishing deal, with her co-writing with ex-Girls Aloud star Nicola Roberts and Ray of Light producer William Orbit. She doesn’t rule out stepping in front of the mic herself either.

And while were at it, here she is with part three of the smoldering Room Service series......

IN YOUR EASTER BONNET

In your Easter bonnet, with all the frills upon it,
You'll be the grandest lady in the Easter parade.
I'll be all in clover and when they look you over,
I'll be the proudest fellow in the Easter parade.
On the avenue, fifth avenue, the photographers will snap us,
And you'll find that you're in the rotogravure.
Oh, I could write a sonnet about your Easter bonnet,
And of the girl I'm taking to the Easter parade

Nadine, get out all the hounds. We're going for a walk.

Italian actress Ornella Muti

Always a joy to see Audrey

perennial beauty Elizabeth Taylor

Aunt Harriet was a real wiz with the glue gun
Even my dear old "Uncle's" got into the swing of things

Let's just hope your bonnet isn't over powering the dining table like some of these will!!! I hope you all will be enjoying this spring holiday of Easter the way you most wish. My aunt is making a lovely lamb dinner with all the fixins. Where I'm sure the car will ride lower on the way back. I take this time to wish you a Happy Easter and joyous day. And have you ever wondered what actually goes on with the Easter Bunny getting candy and baskets ready for Easter morn? Since last week's Silly Symphony was a hit.........HAPPY EASTER!!!!!!

" I REALLY AM TOO MUCH"

Yesterday, March 23rd was Joan Crawford’s birthday. Which one? Well, we’re not quite sure—depending on the source, she was either born in 1905, 1906 or even 1908. Of course it doesn’t really matter—Joan was timeless. Either year, dear Joansy would be over a hundred. I have adored her since I saw the Women. I have never held that temper against her. Can you really blame the woman for beating that annoying brat with a wire hanger? Trust me, an annoying child is the last thing one needs with a good case of OCD and a gin hanger over. Hell, I'd done the same! Where ever you are Joan....HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!
“Send me flowers while I’m alive. They won’t do me a damn bit of good after I’m dead.”

“I never go outside unless I look like Joan Crawford the movie star. If you want to see the girl next door, go next door.”

"I need sex for a clear complexion, but I'd rather do it for love."

“Love is a fire. But whether it is going to warm your hearth or burn down your house, you can never tell.”
“Marlon Brando . . . Oh, what was the film [Last Tango in Paris] . . . anyway the nude scene. He’s at least 40 pounds overweight, and I think the only sex appeal he has would be to a meat packer. That’s art?”

"I think that the most important thing a woman can have - next to talent, of course - is her hairdresser."
