IN YOUR EASTER BONNET

In your Easter bonnet, with all the frills upon it,
You'll be the grandest lady in the Easter parade.
I'll be all in clover and when they look you over,
I'll be the proudest fellow in the Easter parade.
On the avenue, fifth avenue, the photographers will snap us,
And you'll find that you're in the rotogravure.
Oh, I could write a sonnet about your Easter bonnet,
And of the girl I'm taking to the Easter parade

Nadine, get out all the hounds. We're going for a walk.

Italian actress Ornella Muti

Always a joy to see Audrey

perennial beauty Elizabeth Taylor

Aunt Harriet was a real wiz with the glue gun
Even my dear old "Uncle's" got into the swing of things

Let's just hope your bonnet isn't over powering the dining table like some of these will!!! I hope you all will be enjoying this spring holiday of Easter the way you most wish. My aunt is making a lovely lamb dinner with all the fixins. Where I'm sure the car will ride lower on the way back. I take this time to wish you a Happy Easter and joyous day. And have you ever wondered what actually goes on with the Easter Bunny getting candy and baskets ready for Easter morn? Since last week's Silly Symphony was a hit.........HAPPY EASTER!!!!!!

  2. and I bet YOUR own personal bonnet is smashing, since your fashion sense is impeccable!

but we should REALLY change the song lyric to "And of the BOY I'm taking to the Easter parade" to be all inclusive.

enjoy your day at the homestead!

  6. I don't really celebrate Easter anymore, but the silly symphonies was quite cute and brings back the magical feeling Easter had as I kid. Funny how a simple cartoon held our attention isn't it?

  12. That's the first time I ever saw Liz Taylor with chickens on her head.

I've had a few chickens sit on my head - - but that's a different story entirely.....

What could be better on Easter than watching "Easter Parade" and a Silly Symphony???
I'll see you on 5th Avenue - with Nadine and the hounds.....

  17. Happy Easter! I remember my grandmothers breaking out Easter finery to wear to church and then scroll, it was big business. And these are some gem Barbara. Cartland would adore. One of my favorite Silly Symphonies was I was young. I wondered if this is what really went on?!?
