I WAS MADLY IN LOVE WITH LIFE

Renaissance woman Hedy Lamarr could not be accused of living a dull life. Even before fleeing her loveless marriage to a Nazi arms dealer to become a Hollywood star. She is remembered for her beauty on the silver screen, but the Hollywood actor spent her nights inventing a weapons communication system that was a precursor to wireless technologies including Bluetooth and Wi-Fi. To me she was the most beautiful woman to ever grace the screen!  She still leaves me breathless, and I'm a gay man!!!! She would have been 101 today. Us Scorpios have to stick together, I say.

"Any girl can be glamorous. All you have to do is stand still and look stupid"

"Men are most virile and most attractive between the ages of 35 and 55. Under 35 a man has too much to learn, and I don't have time to teach him."

"Lawyers know how to take isolated complaints in a divorce case and build them into one big one."

"I can excuse everything but boredom. Boring people don't have to stay that way."

“American men, as a group, seem to be interested in only two things, money and breasts. It seems a very narrow outlook.”

“I don’t fear death because I don’t fear anything I don’t understand. When I start to think about it, I order a massage and it goes away"

“I was madly in love with life.”

  1. She was always recognized for her beauty, that is how come they named her "the most beautiful woman in films...some even went as far as say, the world...and yet, no movie has been made of her amazing life...but we get a movie of Taylor and her seven husbands

  2. One may wonder if history would have played out a bit different had The Brass taken her invention more seriously during WWII.

  4. Ugh! She just was so gorgeous! The most beautiful woman that I personally have ever seen. And a brain to boot. No wonder she was a double danger to most women.

  6. Truly the most gorgeous female star in the Golden Age of Hollywood.
My mother met her on a Presidential campaign I think they were campaigning for Eisenhower.
Mom said Hedy was as beautiful in person as she was in films.

  7. No less than Dame Angela Lansbury said of her: "She had a cloak of intrigue surrounding her, no question about it, to anyone my age - I was only 22 or so when I met her. I watched her carefully, and I was so dazzled and blown away by her beauty. That in itself kept you riveted. Forget about anything else, she was a stunning woman with the most extraordinary kind of presence."

    I'm with the Dame! Jx

  8. Truly a thing of beauty, inside and out! Had it not been for her, we all wouldn't be blogging or reading them, if you think about it.

  13. A stunning beauty! Her bio on imdb.com says she turned down the lead on Casablanca. What a mistake that was, although maybe she was too good-looking for Bogart. What would life be like for a gay man who was as pretty as her, I wonder?
