THE LEGEND OF BERGDORF GOODMAN

Once upon a time in a city called New York City, sits one of the most beautiful crowned jewels, far and wide. At 745 Fifth Avenue, this store sits, always greeting passer-bys, with a warm surprising window display, and the inside is a mecca of further elegance and luxury. But this time of year, the store shines even more brilliant than any time of the year. And it's enough to put even the grumpiest of Scrooge's in a good mood, and open that wallet.

Christmas at Bergdorf's.....  the always magnificent windows centered around the different forms of art on Fifth Avenue, and the side windows featured their incredible fashion. As is tradition here.....the Bergdorf windows......

 Literature.....

The arts.....

Architecture......

Painting.....

How incredible is this Music window??? Filled with all silver instruments.

Dance.....

Film.....

Sculpture....

The side windows centered on their fashion, with huge white trees and birds aplenty....... while the tree was filled with baubles, Chanel handbags, Jimmy Choo shoes, Prada wallets and exquisite fragances.....

David Hoey and his team did yet another spectacular job creating these master pieces , each taking days to install, just to create a magical season for the public. But don't stop there..... inside the luxe gem is just as elegant....the creamy paneled walls and elegant chandeliers become a wonderland of white, with snow laden trees and frosty branches everywhere. Taidermized doves, geese, swans and peacocks roost above the vitrines, displaying diamonds and opals, and other costly treasures......

And the levels of service in this store is what retail should be about! Wow!!! Not to mention you can find help in a snap. I came out of their glowing.....It's reassuring to know that this Grande Dame, and the most elegant department store in the world of retailing, still reigns supreme...and she seems to be living happily ever after!

  12. Wow- amazing creations that are art in themselves. Sorry.....you just don't see this on the west coast. I can't even think of a store here that even comes close to reviling the elegance and upscale feel of Bergdorfs.
