Speaking of Flights...I'm Out Again!

What a weekend! I'm proud to say I did absolutely nothing over the weekend except got caught up blog reading, sleeping, cooking, and vegging! And I even made it the whole weekend without male company!!!! A small feat in self. Last week was a grueling week and this week will bring more work again as I'm leaving today and heading to work at our store in Chevy Chase area to help out with some stylings and helping with some over hauls and some prototypes going on. From there it's off to a event at the Met in New York with Prince Charming, then to Harrisburg to visit family and to see a classical quartet from the Juilliard School of music that were a gift by a sweet blog reader!!! I'm also catching up with my good friend Miranda whose is visiting from Florida. So another whirlwind week coming up. But speaking of flights did anyone watch Pan Am? I liked it. And in other flight news I enjoyed watching the finches this weekend from the bag feeders I have hanging out the kitchen window and one tree. I have to clean the one window often from droppings though, yuck!

So pretty to watch. And like them, I'm off again!!! I'm taking my laptop to blog read in the hotel, but won't be posting. See ya soon!

The Glamour of Flight

There was something in the air in the early years of commercial aviation. Perhaps more excitement, perhaps more glamorous stewardesses... in any case, it's worth savoring once again. The Mistress once thought of being a stewardess, you know, to bring back the glamour, but was told her look was to campy and the the hair was was to big, in addition to all the hair accouterments. I just though it would be great fun to meet men, serve, and look fabulous!!! Plus I think they were worried I would be sampling the gin! From the 1950s onwards air travel became increasingly glamorous. Being a pilot or an air hostess was cool and everyone wanted to fly but few could afford it. A job where you could be paid to jet around the globe was therefore the envy of all. Popular belief had it, in those far off days, that the cabin crew spent most of the flight smiling amiably at the passengers, and occasionally providing a nice drink or a tray of delicious nibbles. Airlines were all about glamour and new technology. The hostess provided the glamour and jet engines were a modern innovation for passenger planes so publicity shots often combined the two. These days while some of the hostess are very well trained and friendly, alas, the glamour of yester year is gone like every other profession. Just as long as they don't starting wearing sneakers with their business suits. If they do, Ill be appalled!

Needless to say, I can't wait and am curious to see what ABC does with this. It looks like a higly stylized show like Ugly Betty was. It's taking flight tonight!

Angry Cat? ...of Just Madonna.....

....when she attacks fans and the paparazzi?

Last night at the Casa

While the Mistress was out taking some laps in the old gin pool last night, her houseboys had some moments of their own!

From the Candy Shop

Oh! No one say anything frivolous for the next few moments. I am having a significant experience. Staring at these pictures of Adam Levine from Maroon 5.........

It took several seconds of silence for me to realize that I'd been staring at him while my mind spun out its thoughts. And, actually, he was staring back at me, with a look of wonder. Love the tattoos up and down his arm. There's nothing more dangerous than a boy with charm I say, and this is some sweet candy.

Checking in With Buster Bolfig Borghese

Well, well, well, it has been a while since we have seen Buster Bolfig Borghese, the little sweet pea of the Casa du Borghese and there is a reason for that. After the divorce of the ex Boy-Toy and myself, neither one of us could give the pup up, so like any child of a split, we share custody. He is partly in the city now at the Townhouse, and partly in the countryside at the estate!!! He recently went back to the city with the ex Boy-Toy, and I had a very fun visit with him!!! But truth be told, I do believe Buster Bolfig has more of my habits then the ex Boy-Toy's like my fondness of cock-a-tails, sleeping late and lounging about on weekends, and his aggressive behavior when it comes to mates!!!! Here were some Buster Bolfig moments of late.
Here is Buster's cute look of I wanna go for a walk.
Buster's appalled look after the Mistress belched.
Here was Buster over the Labor Day holiday visiting with Lady. I do believe these two are going to audition for the live action version of Lady and the Tramp.

Stopping to smell the flowers.
I believe this was a yawn!
Here is Buster Bolfig with a few things to say to all. The poor thing is always hyper after the vacuum cleaner is run.
